About the event

Autistic burnout is an increasingly recognised phenomenon, with a growing body of research highlighting its impact across the lifespan. It is frequently misunderstood, misidentified, or conflated with depression or occupational burnout, particularly in autistic people who are undiagnosed or have internalised presentations.

This live webinar will provide clinicians with a clear, practical framework for understanding autistic burnout and responding to it in an affirming and clinically appropriate way.

Amanda will be presenting for the first time a conceptual analysis of how autistic burnout presents across the lifespan. The existing research has largely focused on adults, but clinically it shows up at every developmental stage. It just looks different depending on where someone is. This framework is currently unpublished, and Friday will be one of the first opportunities to engage with it directly.

In this webinar, Amanda will cover:

  • What autistic burnout is, including current conceptual models and proposed diagnostic features
